The US branch of Menard was formed by the merger of Drainage & Ground Improvement, Inc. (DGI), the pioneer of Wick Drains (Prefabricated Vertical Drains) in the US, and Menard Soiltreatment, Inc., the US affiliate of Menard, one of the world's leading specialized ground improvement contractors.

The history of Menard includes several innovative milestones from the pioneering of wick drains to the invention of Dynamic Compaction and Dynamic Replacement to the development of the Menard Vacuum for Vacuum Consolidation and the Controlled Modulus Column.

Menard is the US branch of Menard, an international specialty ground improvement contractor and a member of the Soletanche Freyssinet Group, which includes Menard, Reinforced Earth and Soletanche Bachy, geotechnical and specialized civil engineering companies; Freyssinet, specialists in prestressing, cable-stayed structures and structural repair; and Nuvia, a leader in the nuclear field.
